The My Disney Experience (MDE) app seems to be adding new
features all the time. One of the newest
features is the Mobile Order feature.
Using this feature is super easy.
I decided to give it a try on my most recent trip, and I will be using
this often! It was so easy, and fast!
Here is how it works.
Log into your MDE account.
(If you are like me when you are in the parks you are constantly logged
in. J
)
Tap the Order Food button.
Your next screen will be a list of restaurants that participate in the
mobile ordering.
This list includes all
4 parks and Disney Springs. Pick your
restaurant to see Dining Details.
Tap
the Order Food to view the menu and build your order.
When you are done adding food to your order
you will then tap the “View My Order” at the bottom of the page.
The next
screen is what you have ordered and your subtotal for your meal. Next tap Review Order Summary.
The final screen is your Payment Method. You pay right through the app. You will need to have a credit card saved in
your MDE. As of right now it is not set
up to accept the Disney Dining Plan credits.
I would not be surprised if that feature was added sometime in the
future. For now you will pay by credit
card.
Once you reach the restaurant tap the “I’m here, Prepare My
Order” in the app. We used this time to find a table in the restaurant. We got lucky and got a table next to the window looking out into the loading area of "Its a Small World" ride. By the time we got our table along with our napkins and straws I got the notification that our food was ready.
When it is ready you
will receive a notification to pick up your order. There is a special Mobile Order Pick up line
in each restaurant. Just make your way
to that counter to pick up your meal.
It is an easy way to get counter service meals a little bit
faster. No more waiting in long lines.
