Mobile Order Feature on My Disney Experience App

The My Disney Experience (MDE) app seems to be adding new features all the time.  One of the newest features is the Mobile Order feature.    Using this feature is super easy.  I decided to give it a try on my most recent trip, and I will be using this often!  It was so easy, and fast!

Here is how it works.

Log into your MDE account.  (If you are like me when you are in the parks you are constantly logged in.  J )

Tap the Order Food button.

Your next screen will be a list of restaurants that participate in the mobile ordering.

This list includes all 4 parks and Disney Springs.  Pick your restaurant to see Dining Details.

Tap the Order Food to view the menu and build your order.

When you are done adding food to your order you will then tap the “View My Order” at the bottom of the page.

The next screen is what you have ordered and your subtotal for your meal.  Next tap Review Order Summary.

The final screen is your Payment Method.   You pay right through the app.  You will need to have a credit card saved in your MDE.   As of right now it is not set up to accept the Disney Dining Plan credits.  I would not be surprised if that feature was added sometime in the future.  For now you will pay by credit card.

Once you reach the restaurant tap the “I’m here, Prepare My Order” in the app. We used this time to find a table in the restaurant.  We got lucky and got a table next to the window looking out into the loading area of "Its a Small World" ride.  By the time we got our table along with our napkins and straws I got the notification that our food was ready.

When it is ready you will receive a notification to pick up your order.  There is a special Mobile Order Pick up line in each restaurant.  Just make your way to that counter to pick up your meal.

It is an easy way to get counter service meals a little bit faster.  No more waiting in long lines.

Here is a list of the restaurants that currently offer Mobile Ordering

Happy 89th Birthday Mickey Mouse!

November 18, 1928

Eighty-nine years ago, Mickey Mouse made his debut in the cartoon Steamboat Willie.  This date has become known as the birth of the Mouse, and the beginning of Mickey's career.  One of the most notable accomplishments of this cartoon is the use of synchronized sound.  Which includes character sounds and a musical score.  Letting us hear Mickey whistle for the first time!
We love you Mickey,  Happy Birthday!

Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs

When Disney Springs opened the new bus station near the middle of the complex, it left the old bus station at the end of the Marketplace kinda bare.  However it was a great place to put a walking trail of themed Christmas trees.  This is the first time we have been to WDW for the Thanksgiving holiday, and I was very excited to check out the tree trail.   Each tree was decorated with a different theme and lighting configuration.  They even had the snope machines going!
I took pictures of all the trees.  Some where a little hard to get a good photo with the way the lighting was set up, but over all it turned out pretty well.   Thinking about a trip to Disney?  Contact me for a free quote.  My services are free when you book a Disney resort vacation.  slaster@smallworldbigfun.com

Anniversary Trip

Twenty-two years ago Jason and I spent our honeymoon at Walt Disney World.  The next year we spent our first anniversary at WDW, and the next year we spent our Christmas there.  To say that many of our milestones, anniversaries, and birthdays are spent at WDW is an understatement!

This year is our 22nd Anniversary trip.  (Our 20th was on our first ever cruise, and of course it was a Disney cruise!)  This is the first trip though that I have viewed the parks through the eyes of a Disney travel planner.  It was loads of fun to figure out what I would suggest to clients on places to eat, or fireworks viewing spots,  or where to just sit a relax.

Dinner after checking in to the Polynesian Resort.

This trip was also a brain storming session to come up with my blog ideas, and how I want to proceed.

Lunch brought to you by the Dark Side.  Can't beat chicken and waffles!  :-)

At the Magic kingdom, with a look down Main Street USA!
We love the view from the train station platform.

Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to my blog! Here I will post about my experiences traveling to Walt Disney World over the last 30+ years. I have some tricks and tips that I have discovered and will post some of them here. I have been fortunate enough to experience the parks with all ages of people from young children, teenagers, grandparents, and adults. Each experience is different, but most definitely magical. I work for Small World Big Fun travel agency specializing in Disney Destinations. Including Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, Adventures by Disney (guided tours all over the world) and Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii. Small World Big Fun has the distinction of being an EarMarked Travel agency, which is given by Disney to select agencies to recognize their extensive knowledge of all things Disney and for the high level of value we provide to our clients as a result of our expertise.
